Irv Koch began Koch Stainless Products Ltd. in 1970 with their first small shop building located near the corner of Logan and Quelch in Northwest Winnipeg. The company specialized in stainless steel and manufactured a wide variety of restaurant equipment. Increasing production made moving to a larger plant necessary in 1978 when they constructed their new shop at their present location at 495 Jarvis Ave. Subsequent additions in 1986 and 1996, and the purchase of adjacent buildings in 2001 have expanded the shop to its present size.

The focus of the company has changed slightly away from the restaurant equipment in recent years to a wider variety of custom metal fabrication. The recent addition of newer shop equipment to meet changing capabilities has left Koch Stainless Products Ltd. in a position to provide the services of production run capacity to their shop. The Koch family has to this day remained active in the company.
